Privacy Policy for Foosoc App
Last Updated: June 21, 2026
1. Introduction
Foosoc ("we", "our", or "us") is an independently developed football match tracking mobile application.
This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and protected when you use the Foosoc app.
Our website foosoc.com provides general information about the app.
The website does not receive your match, team, or player data from the app.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 User-Provided Information
- Player Information: Player names, positions, jersey numbers, and optional photos entered voluntarily by the user.
- Match Data: Team names, scores, match duration, goals, assists, cards, substitutions, fouls, offsides, and related events.
- Team Information: Team names, formations, and lineups.
- Tournament Information: Optional tournament name, stage, venue, and group details.
2.2 Photos (Optional)
If you choose to add a player photo, the app uses Android's system photo picker.
Foosoc does not request broad access to your photo library or camera.
You select a specific image, and it is stored locally on your device only.
Foosoc does not upload player photos to Foosoc-operated servers.
2.3 Automatically Collected Information
The following may be collected by third-party services integrated into the app:
- Advertising ID: Collected by Google AdMob for ad serving and measurement.
- Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and basic diagnostics.
- App Usage Data: Anonymous usage events collected by Firebase Analytics.
- Crash & Performance Data: Anonymous crash reports and stack traces collected by Firebase Crashlytics to improve app stability.
- Consent Choices: Advertising consent preferences managed through Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP), where required by law.
3. How We Use Information
- Provide core match tracking and team management features.
- Store match history locally on the device.
- Allow optional backup and restore of your app data on your device when you choose to use Download Data or Import Data in Settings.
- Improve performance, reliability, and usability.
- Display advertisements (banner, interstitial, and native formats) through Google AdMob.
- Diagnose and fix crashes through Firebase Crashlytics.
- Understand general app usage through Firebase Analytics.
4. Data Storage & Security
4.1 Local Storage
- All match, team, and player data is stored locally on the user's device using on-device database storage.
- Player photos are stored locally and are never uploaded to Foosoc-operated servers.
- In-progress match state may be saved locally so you can resume a match.
4.2 Data Retention
- Data remains on the device until you delete it within the app, uninstall the app, or clear app data.
- Backup files you export to your device remain until you delete them from your file manager or storage.
4.3 Android System Backup
If you have Android backup enabled on your device, your app data may be included in your Google account device backup.
This is controlled by your Android system settings, not by Foosoc.
This is separate from Foosoc's optional Download Data and Import Data features described in Section 4.5.
4.4 Security
- Reasonable technical measures are used to protect locally stored data.
- Foosoc does not operate its own servers and does not upload your match, team, or player data to Foosoc.
4.5 Backup, Export & Import (Optional)
Foosoc offers optional backup and restore features so you can keep a copy of your data on your device, for example after reinstalling the app or changing phones.
- Download Data: You can export a backup file from Settings (gear icon) > Download Data. The file is saved on your device, typically in the Download/FooSoc folder, as a .foosoc file.
- Automatic backup: After your first successful manual export, Foosoc may automatically save updated backup files to the same folder when you leave the app. This only happens after you have used Download Data at least once.
- Import Data: You can restore from a .foosoc backup file using Settings > Import Data. Import is performed on your device only. Backup files are not uploaded to Foosoc-operated servers.
- What is included: Backup files may contain your matches, teams, player statistics, optional player photos, and in-progress match state saved locally in the app.
- Not encrypted: Backup files are not encrypted. Anyone with access to the file, or to apps or services you share it with, may be able to read its contents.
- Your control: You choose when to export or import data. You are responsible for protecting backup files on your device and for any copies you create, move, or share.
5. Data Sharing
5.1 No Sale of Data
Foosoc does not sell, rent, or trade user data.
